Silver-washed Fritillary butterfly – Argynnis paphia paphia f.valesina seen at Chedworth Roman Villa SP053135, on August 8th 2013 by Will Atkins.
This form occurs in a small amount of females, where the orange-brown colouring is replaced by deep olive-green. Also known as the ‘Greenish silver-washed fritillary ( http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species.php?species=paphia).
