November’s Gloucestershire Winter Bird Survey has been postponed.
All current volunteers have been emailed and will be contacted again in mid-January when the situation is clearer.
The concern is the large rise in Covid transmission, in particular by people who show no symptoms at all. The survey is not an essential service, and while it takes place out-of-doors and often in isolated spots there would have been quite a few urban squares this time around.
The seventh winter of the Gloucestershire Winter Birds Survey takes place throughout November. If you are already involved you will be contacted beforehand. If you would like to try it, contact glosbirdsurvey@btinternet.com
