Projects

In addition to the projects that GNS supports by way of financial grants, the society also undertakes projects of its own. This is a summary of the society’s current projects.

GNS Garden Challenge

Ash Landscapes project

A project being carried out in partnership with the Cotswold Conservation Board to ask people to photographically record ash trees in our landscape.

Curlew Meadows

The Curlew Meadows project aims to increase understanding of the wildlife and ecology of low-lying fields in Gloucestershire, especially those that are prone to flooding from the Rivers Severn and Avon.
The project encompasses wildlife and landscape more generally. It aims to raise awareness of this largely unappreciated stretch of country, to map its rich biodiversity, to encourage appropriate management by farmers, and to press for additional protection and support of this threatened habitat.
