Looking at notable trees and shrubs, with a focus on those collected by Gloucestershire’s most famous plant collector, EH Wilson, ‘Gardener, Botanist and Plant Hunter’, who was born in nearby Chipping Camden. After our Batsford visit, we can take the short drive to The Ernest Henry Wilson Memorial Garden in Chipping Camden, to see some more of the 2000 plants he brought back from Asia, 60 of which are named after him.
