Chipping Sodbury – River Frome to Sodbury Common

We’ll walk along the River Frome and across Sodbury Common, recording wetland and grassland plants, as well as garden escape species.
Based on the 2020 survey, we hope to see species aquatic species such as Ranunculus aquatilis agg. (Water Crowfoot), Ranunculus flammula (Lesser Spearwort), Veronica anagallis-aquatica (Blue Water-speedwell), Myosotis laxa (Tufted Forget-me-not), Jacobaea aquatica (Marsh ragwort); grassland species such as Bromus racemosus (Smooth Brome), Ononis spinosa (Spiny Restharrow), Trifolium fragiferum (Strawberry Clover), arable plants – Lipandra polysperma (Many-seeded Goosefoot) and various sedges. We may also spot an alien American signal crayfish in the river.
