This meeting will be led by Hugh Manistre and Ben Locke. They will be telling us about the work they have done in the Forest of Dean on Nightjars (Caprimulgus europaeus). Hugh has been recording Nightjar song for more than 10 years, and will give us an insight into how he can identify individuals from characteristics of their song. Ben will show us some of the things he has discovered about Nightjar behaviour at the nest by use of trail cameras. This is a good chance for us to develop an insight into a bird that most of us find difficult to see, and only hear occasionally. Following the introduction and questions members, and guests, are free to explore topics of their own.
This is a Zoom talk which starts at 19.30, and the meeting will be open from 19.15 for attendees to sign in before the start. For members to register and receive a link for this talk free of charge, please contact Barrie Mills at bazmills48@outlook.com to book your place. Non-members are welcome to attend for a fee of £2.00 payable below.
