11:00-17:00

This meeting aims to explore the flora of the top of Leckhampton Hill, which consists of an interesting mixture of native, calcareous grassland species and aliens, some dumped, some bird-sown. We will also focus on the wealth of hawkweed (Hieracium) species to be found there. If there is time later in the day, we may drive to the bottom of the hill and look at some of the species to be found along Daisy Bank Road.

Meet at 11:00 in the Quarry Car Park, Hartley Lane SO 946176, W3W: decently.encoder.smile. As its name suggests, this car park is located in an old quarry. If you find yourself in a car park in a large flat area, you have gone too far (or not far enough if approaching from Seven Springs) ! If you are planning to use the A417 to get to the site, please check whether it is open (major roadworks currently and lots of weekend closures). Wear suitable footwear and clothing and bring a packed lunch.
