A talk by Mike Smart to Gloucestershire Naturalists’ Society – 1st September 2021 at 7.30 pm.
For those of us that have heard Mike talk before about Curlews, rest assured, this is a new talk with up-to-date information about the status of the breeding curlews in Gloucestershire, and informing us of developments in the world of Curlew conservation both locally and nationally.
Mike’s talk will be in two parts, with a break between them. The first part will cover the local news. The second part will be about conservation of the lowland Curlews in the UK.
As a previous chairman of GNS Mike is well known to us, and his passion for Curlews, and his drive to conserve them, has been recognised by the BTO.
This promises to be a very interesting talk about a species that we have possibly taken for granted, but which is in urgent need of help if we are to continue to hear its iconic call from the meadows of the Severn Vale.
This is a Zoom talk which starts at 19.30, and the meeting will be open from 19.15 for attendees to sign in before the start.
For members to register and receive a link for this talk free of charge, please contact Barrie Mills at bazmills48@outlook.com to book your place. Non-members are welcome to attend for a fee of £2.00 payable below.
